Tokayev and Cuban Vice President discuss trade and Digital Development

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdés Mesa, reports «24KZ» citing the Akorda press service.

The Head of State thanked the distinguished guest for participating in today's event and emphasized that Cuba's involvement in the activities of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is of great importance to Kazakhstan.

Tokayev highlighted the relevance of the agenda of the Eurasian Economic Forum, which focused on the development of artificial intelligence, and pointed to the prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in this field.

The President informed his guest about the measures being implemented in Kazakhstan to introduce AI technologies and accelerate the digitalization of key sectors of the economy. In this context, he expressed Kazakhstan's readiness to share its experience with the Cuban side in the development of e-government services, including the export of advanced Kazakh digital solutions.

For his part, Salvador Valdés Mesa conveyed greetings from Cuban President Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and expressed his country's readiness to strengthen trade and economic ties with Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the parties also noted the potential for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in such promising areas as healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

In addition, they discussed opportunities for further deepening business, cultural, and humanitarian relations. The interlocutors also exchanged views on current international issues.
