Kazakhstan Tops World Rankings in Men's Épée Fencing for First Time

Kazakhstan men epee team has reached the top of the International Fencing Federation’s world rankings for the frist time in history, 24KZ reports.

In the updated standings, the national team has earned 354 points, moving ahead of France and Switzerland. Italy and Ukraine also feature in the top five.

This historic achievement follow a series of strong performances be Kazakhstan’s epee fencers at major international competitions.

Before of the start of new season Kazakhstan ranked third in the world ranking, behind Switzerland and France. The team’s victory at the World Cup stage in Casablanca helped it to climb to the top of the rankings.
