Khabar Agency launches major new project
Khabar Agency has launched another major project. Filming for the television series «Ақ жеңге» has started in the Almaty Region, reports «24KZ». The series is a comedy-drama that portrays the realities of rural life.
The screenplay explores the clash between traditional national values and modern views on life. The series is expected to premiere this autumn as part of the new television season.
The new project by Khabar Agency is another production by the creative team behind the popular Kazakh TV series «Келінжан». The main inspiration behind the film is renowned Kazakh producer Gulnur Mamasaripova, while the director is Ernar Nurgaliyev.
The creators note that the theme of the new project is highly relevant to modern Kazakh society.

- Unfortunately, even young women who have never been married sometimes speak negatively about family life. That is not good. Our task as film professionals is to promote the institution of family from a positive perspective. To preserve traditional values, society needs examples of simple and successful families.
The story takes place in a rural village. A local elderly man named Anuar has three sons and struggles deeply with the loss of his wife. When the family gathers for a memorial ceremony, the eldest son’s wife, Zhibek, notices her father-in-law’s emotional state and decides to remain in the village. From that moment, harmony and stability gradually return to the household.
The role of Zhibek is played by well-known actress Kamshat Zholdybayeva.

- My character Zhibek is a strong, yet gentle and kind woman. She is someone who knows how to accept many things, understand people deeply, and empathize with them. She knows how to forgive.
The idea behind the new series is to highlight important themes such as family values, love, responsibility, and the role of women in society. The creators have combined light humor with deeper dramatic elements.

- A positive image of the ‘zhenge’ is extremely important for our society. In Kazakh culture, this refers to the wife of an older brother or older relative. Such women can become the support system and unifying force within a family. We expect the new series to play a valuable role in promoting traditional values.
Alongside established actors, the series also features young performers who are just beginning their careers in the film industry.
The television series «Ақ жеңге» will premiere during the new season of the Khabar TV Channel this autumn.
